On the 12th and 13th of August 2025, it was a great honor for us at Saengtham College, Xavier Campus, Chiang Rai, to humbly welcome Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, SJ, together with Archbishop Peter Bryan Wells and approximately 30 youths from Luxembourg. The atmosphere was filled with joy, warmth, and meaningful cultural exchange.
On the first day, the Luxembourg group participated in meaningful community activities by organizing programs for the students of Ban Tubkumantong School in a nearby village, helping to paint the school walls, and later visiting an Akha village where they celebrated Mass and spent time with the local community.
In the evening, every member of the college and Luxembourgers joined the welcoming party together. Staff members of the college gave everything they had to deliver the best service for our honored guests. We all dined and enjoyed the shows together. Every student manifested themselves at their full capacities through their shows such as Muay Thai arts, Karen-language song, Laos’ traditional dance, Akha’s traditional role play, and even various cultures exchange! Luxembourgers also delivered a heartfelt show with energetic dancing and beautiful songs! That event was filled with laughter, joy and excitement. Also, the Cardinal is very friendly! He walked throughout the area to greet everyone as much as possible. At the end of the ceremony, we flew the northern lantern together as a sign of harmony and hope.
On the second day, it was Netr Keeree Builiding opening ceremony. Honored by Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich and Archbishop Peter Bryan Wells alongside the youths of Luxembourg, Netr Keeree Building have been blessed with warmth and elegance. We gathered in unison to glorify God together in this heartfelt occasion.
It is a truly amazing opportunity for us to meet cheerful and energetic people from Luxembourg. And We found that it is a wonderful moment for our students to greet and share with them. And today is going to be a day that we will remember as one of the historical days of our college.
