This June has been a blessed and joyful month for the Society of Jesus in Thailand, as we celebrated the ordination of two new Jesuit priests: Father Tharadol Dongyasopa, known as Father Jen, and Father Sadudee Dumrongkitmongkol, known as Father Pii. Though shaped by different experiences, their unique journeys reflect the same deep calling—to love and serve others through the priesthood. We give thanks to God for their devoted families, whose faith and nurturing spirit helped shape their vocations and guided them toward God’s call.
Vocations
On the morning of Monday, April 22nd, 2024, the Society of Jesus in Thailand was filled with joy as three men completed their two-year novitiate in the Society of Jesus and pronounced their First Vows at Seven Fountains in Chiang Mai: Sch. Andrew Suriya Dipour, SJ, Sch. Ignatius of Loyola Sattha Charoensin, SJ, and Sch. Ignatius of Loyola Surachai Senghoe, SJ.
The ordination of Fr. Joseph Doan Thanh Tam was a significant moment for the Jesuits in Thailand. It represented the profound love of God that flowed through the Society of Jesus, especially in Thailand. The ordination took place on June 8, 2024, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Seven Fountains, Chiang Mai. It was a celebration of divine grace, unwavering commitment, and the Jesuits’ mission to serve humanity.
“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain” (John 15:16). The vocation to be a priest, or religious, is a special grace from God, inviting you to live, follow, and serve Him.
